My good friend Becky supplies me with the most beautiful and functional “bags.” I use that term bags broadly as you can see by the different types of bags she creates. She is a fabric artist with a focus on usefulness. When Steven and I went to find our Becky created bags for this photo we could hardly believe we found this many!! 7 total including the purse Steven borrowed from me in the picture below. And we are trying to travel light this trip!

Here’s the list – 1 credit card velcro bag each, jewelry bag, cosmetic bag, dirty clothes bag, passport & money bag, and a man-purse (since he appears to have taken it over!)

Becky has gifted me with a new bag on my birthday but she also can show up to a luncheon date with friends with a bag for everyone. She has given my daughters bags, my husband bags, and every year she shows up at our annual high school friend’s “Great 8” retreat with at least one new hand sewn bag. Sometimes she branches beyond her creative bags to things like ear phone holders or phone chord wraps.

Becky, you are the BEST!

Thank you so much for all you create!

  1. Each “Becky bag “ I have been given is a treasure to me. Some are shared memories , some represent a loving gesture of support during life’s challenging times, some provide a practical way to keep things organized. All of her bags are beautiful and works of art.

Congratulations Karen on completing what sounds like a challenging and stunning two week walk in France. Loved the photos and observations. Nice to have the comfort of Becky‘s bags along with you and to bring you home.

  3. Yes to Becky Bags! I get compliments on them wherever I take them. Each is a treasured gift. You must blog about Paris, too. My first overseas destination spring quarter junior year in college. Bon voyages, bon Appétit , and all that.

    1. Thanks Jill! Loving Paris so far! Yesterday we went to the Rodin museum followed by an incredible lunch at a Michelin star restaurant (everything we had hoped for with that splurge!) and an evening bike ride around the city with a 1 hour boat down the Seine. It was truly a wonderful Paris day, especially cuz the bike ride began with a drenching rain storm and then the sky cleared to a perfect dusk light across the city.

  4. What a surprise and flattering blog entry. Thank you for your kind words, Karen! I feel so well traveled in the bags journeys with you. It fills my heart that you are using and appreciating what I have created for you. There is joy in the making and even more joy in seeing you use the gifts.
So happy you have had this experience. And i look forward to seeing you at home soon! 💖

    1. I just found another bag with my headphones in it that I failed to put in the pictures! So that makes 8 Becky bags we have on this trip. I certainly DO use and appreciate your beautiful gifts from your heart.

  5. Can’t survive a work day, road trip, or overseas adventure without my Becky bags! They are a staple packing/gear necessity.
