We are walking from St Jean Pied de Port (France) to Lograno (Spain) over 10 days, with one rest day in Pamplona, for a total of 110 miles. Crossing the Pyrenees Mountains over two days was beautiful and full of farm animals and elevation.

On night 1 we stayed at a small 15 person Albergue called “Borda” after climbing 2400 feet in 6 miles. I had one of my favorite Camino experiences so far as “Mikel”, the proprietor, welcomed us into he and his cousin’s establishment. He used this first night on the Frances’ Camino to set a tone and support a “pilgrims” individual purpose for doing a walk. After listening to his philosophical musings about the potential in this journey he invited us to each introduce ourselves and share the “why” for doing the walk, if we felt comfortable doing so.

The next 3 days of walking to Pamplona were strenuous as we walked 12, 14, & 15 mile days with moderate to substantial elevation gains (between 1300 & 2400 daily). Our group did well and we were also happy to have a rest day on day 5.
