Photo: New Friend Carol

In Porto I met up with Carol, a new friend that Eileen Brady introduced me to because we were doing exactly the same Camino walk this sumner. Serendipitously Carol finished her Camino walk just as I was starting and we were able to meet up for dinner two nights in a row in Porto. Carol gifted me with blister medicine, a tennis ball for daily post walking self massage, and her guidebook with a daily description about the walk. Carol had a wonderful Camino experience and was encouraging and enthusiastic for me. And we laughed and laughed together as we overlooked the beautiful Duoro river scene as the sun set in Porto.

I also got to meet Ross and Kathleen, friends Carla (who I mentioned in a previous post since I just visited her in Maine). Ross and Kathleen are from the USA and been living in Porto for 1.5 years. They LOVE Porto! They openly shared why they moved there and how it has changed them and I so appreciated their thoughtfulness. We had a traditional Portuguese lunch with soup, wine, main dish, coffee, and desert for only 12 euros! So yummy!
